How to view your sitemap

A sitemap is an XML file that tells search engines which pages on your website are important, helping crawlers index your content more efficiently.

Websites created with Wegic come with a built-in sitemap file.

You can enter the following URL in your browser to view your website's sitemap file.

https://www.example.com/sitemap.xml

How to submit your sitemap to Google

Although Wegic-generated websites come with a built-in sitemap, you still need to submit it to Google Search Console to ensure efficient indexing by Google.

Google may find and index your site through links from other websites, but verifying ownership, submitting your sitemap, and manually requesting indexing can speed up the process.

How to submit your sitemap:

To submit your sitemap:

  1. Open

  2. Choose the property (website) you want to submit the sitemap for

  3. Type sitemap.xml into the input field

  4. Click Submit

Robot.txt

How to view your robot.txt

Robots.txt is a text file located in the root directory of your website. It tells search engine crawlers (like Googlebot and Bingbot) which pages can be indexed and which should be restricted from crawling.

Websites created with Wegic come with a built-in robots.txt file.

You can enter the following URL in your browser to view your website's robot.txt file.

https://www.example.com/robots.txt

PageSpeed Optimization

Websites created with Wegic come with built-in PageSpeed optimization.

Why does this matter?

  • Better user experience – Faster load times mean less waiting, lower bounce rates, and higher visitor satisfaction.

  • Improved SEO – Search engines prioritize fast-loading websites, helping you rank higher and attract more traffic.

  • Higher conversion rates – Reduced wait times lead to better engagement, increasing sign-ups, purchases, and other key actions.

  • Stronger market competitiveness – A fast website keeps users engaged, making them more likely to interact and return.

With Wegic's built-in speed optimization, your site performs better without any extra effort.

SSL Certificate

Websites created with Wegic come with a SSL certificate, ensuring your site is secure and trusted by visitors.

Why does this matter?

  • Enhanced security – SSL encryption protects sensitive data, such as personal information and payment details, making your site safer for visitors.

  • Builds trust – A secure website shows visitors that their data is protected, improving their confidence in your site.

  • Improved SEO – Search engines, like Google, prioritize secure websites (HTTPS), helping your site rank higher in search results.

  • Better user experience – SSL ensures that your site is safe for users, preventing security warnings that could discourage them from visiting or making transactions.

  • Compliance with industry standards – Many regulatory standards, such as GDPR, require websites to use SSL to protect user data.

With Wegic's built-in SSL certificate, your website automatically benefits from the security and trust needed to attract and retain visitors.
