FAQ & Troubleshooting
For the sake of brevity, the following questions all refer to Google. However, the same answers apply to all search engines.
Why isn't my site showing up on Google?
It can take search engines 4–6 weeks or longer to index new websites.
Make sure your site is published. While Google can find and index sites on its own, connecting your site to Google Search Console can speed up the process.
How to Check if Your Site is on Google
To see if your website is listed in Google search results:
Go to Google.com.
In the search bar, type:
site:yourdomain.com
(replace yourdomain.com with your actual website address). What happens next:
If you see your website's pages and posts, your site is indexed on Google.
If no results appear, your site hasn't been indexed yet. Follow our guide on verifying your site with Google Search Console and submitting your sitemap.
"I updated my SEO settings, but search engines still show the wrong title or description."
After updating your SEO settings, make sure you've saved changes and published your site.
Search engines can take days, weeks, or even months to update titles and descriptions in search results. You can request Google to recrawl your site, but there's no guarantee it will speed up the process.
Even after indexing, Google may choose to display a different snippet from your page instead of your set meta description if it better matches the search query.
